gordongdongbay asked: So I had a question about your games. First off I just want to say thanks for creating these. They seem really fun and like you put a lot of work into them, some friends and I are going to get together this upcoming weekend and play it. I had a few game play questions though. First off, how much do you suggest we drink when it says take a drink? I'm guessing just take a sip or a shot of beer and finish the drink when it says? Also which version of the game do you suggest we use?
Good questions! I’ve had a chance to play the Kanto board a few times (as expected, this one is more popular than later generations), and we’ve followed the general rule of thumb for how large a single drink is. Basically, it’s a single pull of beer, or thereabouts. Trust me, you can just sip instead and by the end of the game you’ll still be drunk.
Version 5 of the Kanto board is the most recent edition (you can check the version by looking at the top-left corner of the large center square). I’ve had no reports about Johto or the two Hoenn boards, so I can’t really suggest any of them - if you’d like to give them a go, I’d be happy to hear your response!
And one more thing. If you’re looking to print off the board and have it look nice without spending a fortune, dissect it into 9 pieces, each measuring 3x3 squares. Each piece will then fit cleanly on a sheet of paper, and you can cut them out, join them together on consrtruction paper/presentation board, and then have the whole thing laminated. Kinkos has oversize printers which would allow you to have it printed off as a single item, but the cost is around $60.
Eventually I’ll have these printed off professionally onto foldable board game cardboard (such as Risk, Monopoly, or basically any other game), and I’ll start shipping them out to folks. It won’t be soon though, since money is hilariously tight on my end at the moment!
Medical note: Don’t play with more than 6 people. Everyone involved will regret it.

Same as the Kanto board last night, I’ve re-inserted all of the sprites onto the Johto board, maintaining the highest possible quality of each. I’ve also brightened up the Cyndaquil type-drink squares to look more fire-like.

I spent some time today and fixed all of the sprites on the board - I’d been getting a steady stream of “please clean it up!” requests since the first day, and with Hoenn done I finally felt like going back.
I also changed Gary to Blue; a silly initial error on my part that I kind of forgot about. Not much else here, besides a few cosmetic changes.

And here’s the new board for Pokemon Sapphire! Scroll down for Ruby!
Up next… well, it’s a surprise!

Anonymous asked: Any chance you can split up the Kanto board for printability?
Sorry it took so long to reply! Yes indeed, and here they are:
Stay tuned for the new Hoenn boards, and then I’ll be redoing (again!) the Kanto and Johto boards before launching into something probably a little more exciting.

zacloudseth asked: Do you have a 23x23 pdf of your Gold/Silver Drinking Board Game? BTW wonderful, godly stuff! YOU RULE!!!!
Unfortunately, I don’t at the moment. The best I can do is offer these links to high-quality segments of the board:
If you print those off separately, you can join them together in order to make one, high-quality board. It’s what I did the other day and it looks great!
